Take a stand: you have 24 hours to have your say on four annual tax returns for the self-employed

The House of Commons is obliged to hold a debate in response to the public petition on forcing the self-employed and microbusinesses to file four tax returns annually.

I’ve already shared my thoughts, and cut through some rather unfortunate BS spin, here.

MPs will debate this petition at 4.30pm on Monday 25 January.

In advance of this debate, the HoC Petitions Committee is inviting you to share your opinions.

  • What do you think of the Government’s response to this petition?
  • What points would you like MPs to raise in the debate?
  • What questions would you like the Government to answer?

You can submit your views via Twitter using #HoCpetitions until 10am on Thursday 21 January. The submissions are now closed. A summary of the tweets will be provided for MPs ahead of the debate.
